GeoAcoustics is a leading manufacturer of sonar equipment for surveying the seabed and the layers immediately below it. Our head office and factory is based in the UK and we have offices in Houston, Singapore and Mumbai, as well as a network of independent sales representatives around the world, servicing our customer base in over 60 countries.
GeoSwath AUV/ROV
GeoSwath ROV/AUV is a wide swath bathymetric sonar designed as a payload sonar on survey class remotely operated vehicles (ROV's) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). The robust and compact GeoSwath ROV/AUV is suitable for integration on most vehicle sizes. It provides co-registered swath bathymetry and side scan data over a very wide swath, giving accurate high resolution charts and images of the seafloor.
The data can be processed in GeoTexture software to give bottom classification and texture analysis.
GeoSwath Plus
GeoSwath Plus provides very efficient multibeam swath bathymetry and side scan mapping for all survey applications; the same area can be mapped 30% to 40% faster using GeoSwath Plus than with a typical beamforming multibeam echosounder. GeoSwath Plus offers ultra high resolution, accurate and repeatable seafloor bathymetry, with the added bonus of simultaneous true side scan data. The seafloor coverage provided by GeoSwath Plus is up to 12 times the water depth, and can be even greater than this in very shallow water.
The software has been written for Windows XP, and can act as Ethernet broadcast or receiver, allowing local or remote acquisition and processing.
Digital Side Scan
The GeoAcoustics Digital Side Scan (DSSS) is the highest dynamic range single beam dual frequency side scan commercially available.
This highly advanced system allows precisely repeatable seabed feature mapping in a robust and reliable package. The system utilises high resolution direct digital sampling of the received signals, and full digital processing. This new technology offers unprecedented resolution and dynamic range (24 bit), simultaneous dual frequency operation (114/410 kHz), digital filters, pulse width auto adjust to optimise for any sample rate setting and a new high speed digital link enabling very long lengths of low drag co-axial tow cable to be used.
The system configuration, low power and small size make this system ideally suited for installation onto a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) as well as combined profiler/magnetometer tow fish.
